Losing Weight While Pregnant Becomes A Matter of Consideration If You Look At The Following:
Gaining weight during pregnancy: Is a normal process because of 2 following reasons.
1. Women naturally gain weight during pregnancy by 27 to 35 lbs on the average due to growth of the baby, production of some extra fluids inside body and some fat that work as future food storage for the baby.
2. The extra nutrition taken by the mother. It’s a common understanding that for the baby the mother should eat significantly more. It’s not really true as much as it is considered. It should be understood that it’s not a grown up person you are eating extra for. It’s just a tiny little angel you are taking care of. This angel needs sufficient nutrition for it’s growth. Not excess to create an unhealthy environment around it.
Gaining Weight During Pregnancy Can Be Dangerous:
Pre-eclampsia: In this case, you get hypertension and you lose high amount of protein with urine. You may suffer from high blood pressure plus kidney and liver may be affected and damaged. In case it’s severe, pre-eclampsia may turn into fulminant pre-eclampsia, with headaches, visual disturbances, and epigastric pain, and further to HELLP syndrome and eclampsia. Placental abruption is associated with hypertensive pregnancies. These are life-threatening conditions for both the developing baby and the mother. Pre-eclamsia is highly associated with obesity.
Gestational Diabetes: If you notice increased urinations, fatigue, increased thirst, increased hunger, blurred vision, vaginal and other infection, you may be on the way to gestational diabetes. So take care. Being overweight is one of the main reasons of this problem. You baby may suffer from growth abnormalities and/or chemical imbalances after birth. Vaginal delivery may also be critical for you. It is highly accepted by the experts that overweight or obesity is one of the main causes of Gestational Diabetes.
Postpartum hemorrhage: Hemorrhage causes excess bleeding in both type of delivery. And this is the most common cause of perinatal maternal death all around the world.
